Hans Weise

Superconducting accelerators

Hans Weise is Lead Scientist at DESY. His main focus is on the operation and development of superconducting accelerators. He currently leads the DESY effort for the European XFEL X-ray free-electron laser project and has also taken over the coordination of the European XFEL Accelerator Consortium. In addition to DESY, this consortium comprises a number of institutes from the European XFEL partner countries, which contribute to the construction of the European XFEL primarily in the form of in-kind and personnel contributions.
