Hans Weise

Superconducting accelerators

Hans Weise is Lead Scientist at DESY. His main area of work is the operation and further development of superconducting accelerators. The DESY team he leads has been instrumental in the construction of the accelerators of the FLASH and European XFEL free-electron lasers. His current work focuses on the potential expansion of these facilities and their sustainable operation. The transfer of technology to other major research institutions worldwide highlights the significance of DESY’s contributions to superconducting accelerator technology.
