Private charging options on the Bahrenfeld campus

Since 01.07.2021 it is possible to charge the private E-car on the Campus Bahrenfeld at the former IOKI charging points. There are currently a total of 6 charging points (3 columns) with 22kW each available.

The operator and service provider is Hamburg Energie GmbH.

Where can I find the charging stations on campus?

How do I register to charge electricity?

This is made possible by the provider Hamburg Energie. You can register here: https://www.hamburgenergie.de/service/kundenportal/

Is there (always) a charging spot available?

Whether and when a charging slot is available is not the responsibility of V1 and DESY. Hamburg Energie is responsible for on-site charging management.

Is there (always) a charging place available? What type of electricity is provided?

Hamburg Energie supplies the charging stations with 100% green electricity. (Information provided by Hamburg Energie GmbH)

Which plug is required?

The charging stations have IEC 62196 type 2 couplings.
Please refer to the vehicle manual to find out whether and how you can use these on your vehicle. DESY is not liable for damage caused by incorrect use.

How long am I allowed to charge?

The charging duration and capacity is determined by Hamburg Energy. DESY has no influence on this.

I am not a DESY employee, can I still charge there?

Charging at the columns is available to every person on the campus. You will need a usage contract with Hamburg Energie GmbH for this.

Can I charge at the other available charging points on campus?

No. Charging of the private vehicle is only allowed at these six charging points.
DESY reserves the right to take legal action in case of violations.
