Wim Leemans came to DESY from Lawrence Berkeley Lab in February 2019. There the well-known plasma accelerator pioneer was Director of the Division Accelerator Technologies and Applied Physics and head of the BELLA Center (Berkeley Lab Laser Accelerator Center).
