Starting your academic career at DESY

DESY offers a wide range of training and further education opportunities for students and young scientists. Every summer, within the summer student programmes , undergraduate students in physics or related science disciplines can participate in the work of the DESY research groups. Later, they are welcome to work on their master or doctoral theses at DESY. The research centre also provides special support programmes for young scientists.

Summer student programme

Every summer, DESY offers students the opportunity to work in DESY research groups.

DESY offers opportunities for master and doctoral theses in the fields of particle physics, photon science and accelerator physics.

Fellowship programme

Junior scientists can do research at DESY as fellows for two years.

Funding programme

The qualification support of young talents concentrates on graduates, postdocs and junior executives.
